About Me

I’m Nick Azer, a 26-year-old aspiring-lunar-something residing in the paradise that is Portland, Oregon :)

My Bachelor’s is in Urban Planning, so that gives you an idea of the slightly unorthodox direction I come to moon colonization from (compared to being, say, a rocket scientist) :)

My ‘day job’ is working at a hotel (that I also contribute social media/blogging for), and I’m a volunteer for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), currently on a mobile technology-based sustainability outreach project that is pretty full of awesome.

Feel free to leave comments, and/or to contact me directly:

Always open to ideas, suggestions, critiques, whatever :)

I like your site. It is nice to see someone interested in space, who is not an engineer or rocket scientist. Have you read Paul Spudis’ blog, The Once and Future Moon?

I supported NASA as a contractor on the Constellation Program that had the goal of establishing a scientific outpost on the Moon. We were constantly told that young people were not excited about going back to the Moon. But when I had conversations with teenagers and young adults, it was really more complex. Most were excited about an outpost or colony on the Moon. They were not interested in more flags and footsteps.

I’m looking for lunar terrain maps to import into the UDK game editor. Any idea where to search?
